Wasabi. You know it. Your sinuses are clearing and eyes starting to water just reading the word. Sabi. This is a crucial element of Japanese aesthetics refers to the beauty that comes with age, wear, and patina. And in some translations it means “rust.” And this spicy KZJ carries some rust as evidence of its life in Japan. Sabi is also the appreciation of things that have weathered the passage of time and show signs of wear and tear. During our inspection of the truck when it arrived from Japan we found some areas of rust. Not what you’re looking for when you are searching for a vehicle for restoration, but if you goal is to have a Land Cruiser you can actually use and enjoy in the snow or on the beach or in the mud, then sabi is what you seek.

This KZJ-78 features is priced for a fun life, with a 5cm/2” body lift, secondary fender flares, and new 12.5 x 33 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires (and of course 4 wheel drive, 2-speed transfer case,  and locking hubs). The interior is in decent condition with the original seats, door panels and carpet being in good condition. Dashboard does have cracking in the standard places and the rear cargo area upholstery had been removed for a more practical hard panel flooring, more suitable to carrying gear. This is 3rd-row seating capable, although the seats and hardware are not included.
